Dedication to the pursuit of the alleviation of pain and suffering is a pervasive feature of the registry, and one which will at times bring Healers/Physicians into conflict with other segments of Gorean society. In these conflicts it is the good of the patient that is the primary concern of the Healers/Physician. In keeping with the devotion to the protection of the patient, it is also the responsibility of the Physician to maintain the confidentiality of the medical records of all Free patients, except in cases where the patient’s condition constitutes a threat to the community (i.e.: Dar-Kosis and Bazi Plague) or in matters directly affecting the community in other respects (i.e.: death and birth records). Physicians will report births, deaths and cases of communicable diseases to the 2nd Chair of the registry. It will be the responsibility of the 2nd Chair to report any required data to the Civil Administration of your home. The medical records of slaves are, of course, like the slave themselves, the property of their owner.
